There are the several questions that either
have already been asked or I feel may be asked concerning the Holt and /or
Joining the Holt.
A.A holt is a branch of the Elfquest Fan Club where you can make up your own character, write stories, draw pictures, and make friends.
Q.Is this Holt strictly On-line?
A. Yes. At this time, Everwood Holt is strictly on-line.
There is no longer any Membership Fees
as I no longer offer Holt Contests, Monthly Newsletters, or the 3 yearly
Fanzines. May be at a later date I'll be able to offer these again.
Q.What is Role-Playing?
I'm working on an explaination of this.
Q.I don't know or have the Rules, but I want to play, what do I do?
A.Not to worry. I'll be taking care of most of the game mechanics, but you can simple contact me and I'll help you to understand as much of it as you will need.
A. A Character is the Elf, Human, or Troll that you will be Role-Playing, writting stories about, and / or drawing pictures of.
Q. Can I create my own Character?
If Elf then, No, not at first, but later on in the game you may.
The reason for this is to help in getting the Role-playing sessions in the Holt, going as fast and smoothly as possible.
And since the game is starting with the Wolfriders, the smoothest and fastest way to begin, is with precreated characters that are adoptable.
There are 21 Wolfrider elves that you can choose from to adopt as a character. Eventually, the game will include other elven tribes, and from them, Character creation will be allowed.
Q.Can I create a Character from another Holt?
Sorry, but no. Due to Intellectual Property Rights, I have no garantee that permission has been willingly given and so I'm not allowing characters that are from other Holts.
Q.Can I create a WaRP Character?
Sorry again, but no. There are reasons. The main one is more of a legal concern because of copywrite infringements and I have no desire to be contacted by a lawyer &/or sued.
Q.Can I create a Cross-breed character?
I have thought about this, but in the end I've decided against it.
Q. How many Characters may I have?
For now, I'm allowing 2 characters per member.
Q.What about bond animals other than Wolves?
The Wolfrider Characters are the only elven characters being run in the
game at this time, so the only bond animal you can get is the Wolf. Sorry,
but later on in the game there will be oppertunates for other elven characters
that have a bond animal other then a wolf.
NOTE: For those who adopt a wolfrider that
has Animal Bonding as part of their magical gifts, the member may gain another
animal to bond to. But this will be decided during a role-playing session.
Q.Can I write or draw other members Characters?
Yes, providing that you have their permission. Note: When writing stories which include or are about another members' character(s), you will need to send the story to the person for their ok, before submitting the story for the holt site. Also, please remember that permenant damage (for example: loss of limb of death) can't be done to another members' elves without their permission.
